BIG BANG THEORY

Brian and I are ever on the look out for great t.v. shows. A while ago we discovered the Big Bang Theory. It is one of the funniest shows we have seen. Four supersmart geeks and a beautiful girl. It is very funny. Everytime I watch it I think, "Sonya would love this show." So, if you're looking for a show to add to your weekly favourites, check this one out.

PAYING IT FORWARD - CONTRIBUTION

Sonya had this on her blog last week and as part of my commitment, here we go.

Be one of the first 3 people to leave a comment on this post, and I will send you a handmade gift! Sound good? You then need to post the Pay It Forward challenge on your own blog and make a gift also for your first 3 commenters and so on it goes. The gift can be in any price range you like and you have 365 days to send it.

I already know what I will be sending. For those who are curious you'd better get your comment in. I hope you will enjoy the gift.

Oh, I'm so excited. I love giving presents.

BACK TO THE LAND OF THE WARM

I just realized that I haven't blogged for quite a while. Oops! It has been so busy here for the past week. I've been busy with work and working on my courses as well as doing all the things a wife and mother does every day around the house. On Wednesday and Thursday our thermometer bottomed out at -50, so we weren't venturing far out of the house. We did have an ambulance meeting on Thursday, so we bundled up and braved the frigid temperatures. It has been slowly getting warmer, but not fast enough for me. You know it's been cold when you are saying how warm -35 is!
I was hoping to go x-country skiing today, but it never got quite warm enough. Besides that, Brian spent the day cheering for the losing teams in the football playoffs. Of course, I always choose the opposite team from him. That meant all my teams won this weekend. Yay!
Basically all this to say - nothing much is happening in my small corner of the world. Nothing blog-worthy anyways. If I ever get into Whitehorse maybe I will be able to snap some pictures of the girls with their boyfriends and at least post those. In the meantime, I am just trying to stay warm! Oh, how I need another trip to Miami.

BACK TO THE GRIND

The last 2 weeks has certainly been a mixture of events. From the fabulous warmth of Miami and the cruise, to the bitter cold of home. But even though its cold (-45 and beyond), there's no place like home. At least here I can curl up by the fire and keep warm. I've been sick since our return and incredibly tired, but I'm starting to readjust.

We've had such a wonderful time with all the family home, but sadly we have to take the girls back to Whitehorse today. They are excited to be going back and seeing their friends and getting into their regular routine. Josh is excited that he won't have to share the computer and t.v. with them for a while again.

I have been contemplating our flights during the last week and will let you know that Air North gave us far better service than Delta. On the Delta flight, which was over 5 hours, they just gave us a couple snacks and drinks. You could buy a sandwich, etc though. After that experience imagine my surprise when we boarded Air North for the flight from Vancouver to Whitehorse - a 2 hour flight and found we were bombarded with food. They gave us snacks twice, a sandwich (which was very scrumptious), and cake, plus the drinks. I was stuffed by the time we hit Whitehorse.

In the spirit of keeping the holiday alive, I've decided to post more cruise pictures. Enjoy!

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Wishing you all the best year ever. Enjoy every moment of it.

This will be a year of change for us as we see Naomi graduate and move to BC and both Hannah and Josh will be living in Whitehorse come September leaving us on our own. I guess it's all part of the process.
